The Emperor Penguin is the tallest and heaviest of all penguin species. They live in Antarctica, the coldest place on Earth, and are famous for the incredible journey they make to raise their chicks.

Males keep the eggs warm on their feet under a special flap of skin called a brood pouch, huddling together through the harsh Antarctic winter.

  • Emperor Penguins can dive deeper than any other bird - over 1,800 feet!
  • They can hold their breath for over 20 minutes.
