Anna's Hummingbird is one of the most common hummingbirds on the Pacific Coast. Males have a stunning magenta-pink head and throat that flashes like fire in sunlight! Unlike most hummingbirds, they stay year-round instead of migrating.
These tiny birds are incredibly territorial and will chase away birds much larger than themselves. During courtship, males climb over 100 feet in the air, then dive straight down at 60 mph, making a loud chirp with their tail feathers!
