Great Blue Turaco

Corythaeola cristata

Least Concern

The Great Blue Turaco is the largest turaco species, with stunning blue, green, and yellow feathers. Found in African rainforests, these beautiful birds move through the treetops with an unusual, bouncing walk.

Turacos are the only birds that have true green and red pigments in their feathers (in most birds, these colors are created by light reflection). Their red feathers actually contain copper!
