Least Concern

The Indian Peafowl, commonly known as the peacock, is famous for the male's spectacular tail display. When a male fans out his train of feathers covered in iridescent 'eye' spots, it's one of nature's most amazing sights!

Despite their fancy tails, peacocks can fly - they roost in trees at night for safety. Females (peahens) are brown and much less colorful, which helps them hide while sitting on eggs.
