Blue-footed Booby
Sula nebouxii
Least Concern
The Blue-footed Booby has the most amazing blue feet! The brighter the blue, the healthier the bird - and females prefer males with the brightest feet. During courtship, males do a funny high-stepping dance to show off their feet.
Boobies are incredible divers, plunging from up to 80 feet high to catch fish. Their name comes from the Spanish word 'bobo' meaning 'foolish' because they're very tame around humans.
